Food Story: 01
An evening of bibimbap and somaek with new friends, sharing food family-style and learning each other’s tastes.
A young chef who spent the last several years traveling around the world gaining new culinary experiences, decided to share a taste of a very special place from his past. Korea, known for family style dining, was the perfect cuisine for the guests who were definitely not scared to try fermented things (sarcasm detected). They all gathered together in a small Bushwick apartment on a cold evening. A special guest even brought her camera to snap a few beautiful photos to remember the night by.
The spread: various banchan, or Korean side dishes, bimbimbap, an amazing matcha french toast topped with asian pear, and enough somaek to keep everyone brave. Jjan!
